MCP connection docs

How the wptaskify MCP server works, the two URLs, and how your AI uses it.

What it is

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the open standard AI apps use to call tools. wptaskify runs a hosted MCP server: your AI reads the list of tools and calls the ones a job needs.

How to connect

Two URLs, one account:

  • https://wptaskify.com/mcp for WordPress sites, Elementor, Pinterest and Google.
  • https://wptaskify.com/mcp/store for WooCommerce and Shopify stores.

Add the URL to your AI as a custom connector and sign in with your wptaskify account.

Permissions

The connector signs in to your wptaskify account with OAuth. Your AI can use the tools your plan includes, on the sites you connected.

Available tools

410+ tools today. See every tool and what each plan includes.

Example prompts

  • “Which of my sites lost traffic last week?”
  • “Use the shop site and update the summer prices.”
  • “What can you do on my WordPress site?”

Approval

New content is saved as a draft unless you ask for it to be published. These actions always wait for your approval on the server, in the chat or in your dashboard under Approvals:

  • Refunds (WooCommerce and Shopify)
  • Cancelling a Shopify order
  • Permanent deletes of posts, pages and products
  • Deleting media, users, coupons, categories, terms and menus
  • Deleting Shopify products, collections, pages, articles and discounts
  • Putting a product on sale
  • Switching the active theme
  • Deactivating a plugin
  • Writing the .htaccess file
  • A live find-and-replace across the site

Each approval covers that exact action once. Choose always allow for a tool to stop being asked. See Security for the full model.

Security

Sign-in is OAuth; site credentials stay encrypted on our side and are never sent to your AI.

Disconnect

Remove the connector in your AI app, or sign out of wptaskify. Removing a site in the dashboard stops access to that site.

Troubleshooting

If the tools do not appear, remove and re-add the connector, then sign in again. If a tool says you have reached a limit, see your plan's AI actions on the pricing page.
